No matter how much someone may recycle, they will always continue to add to the carbon footprint they carry through their lives.

Con

In my opinion, recycling is not pointless because people cancel out the fact that they are adding to the carbon footprint. If people did not recycle, things would be much worse than they already are. Global warming and other environmental isses would have caused so many problems and recycling helps these negative issues stay neutral. The fact that some people can't be bothered to recycle properly does not mean that recycling itself is pointless.

However, if you take into consideration the amount of money that is spent by companies during the recycling process and the amount of energy required to make the transformation of these recycled products into new products. Regarding your point on global warming, we are recycling huge amounts of waste as we speak but the global warming issue is still happening despite this amount of waste that we recycle. This therefore provides evidence to my argument that no matter how many people recycle properly, the natural effects of global warming will inevitably flaw and undermine our effects to save the planet.

Con

First of all, let me outline and also remind you about the positive aspects of recyling. Recycling is securing the future of our children and grandchildren since it is reducing, land pollution, air pollution and water contamination. Not only is it helping us live a better life, it is also saving money in the sense that it reduces a considerable amount of litter. For example, US tax payers are charged with $500 million every year just to pick up litter by crews along state highways. Recycling reduces the need for more landfills, therefore I completely disagree with the fact that recycling costs a lot of money.
