I think religion should not be part of politics.
I agree, religion should not be apart of politics but that's not what the argument is about. In many countries, the country was formed for religious tolerance and or religious freedom. Many countries, such as Israel, have been formed as a safe-haven for a certain group. Looking at America, many of the colonies were formed for religious freedom. That influenced the framers when establishing the government. Religious influence on federal, state, or government funded operations is prohibited even though religious freedom was the basis (not the sole basis but one of) for the country and government. |
