First off, I would like to thank my opponent for creating this challenge.

To start, some reasons why Deep water offshore oil drilling is in the best interest of the united states.

1.) Allowing off shore drilling will help the U.S. economy by making us less dependent on foreign nations.

2.) Offshore drilling will help create more domestic jobs for U.S. citizens.

3.) It will create millions of dollars in state revenues through royalties.

I look forward to my opponent's response.
