I will argue and provide sound evidence that Debate.org sucks at/cannot do math starting in the next round, Con will examine the evidence and try to disprove my evidence for why DDO cannot do math.

2 rounds only, and first round is acceptance only
500 character rounds because I am feeling particularly lazy
5 minutes to submit arguments
Nah im just kidding, 2 days to submit arguments should be long enough.
RainbowDash52

Con

I accept.

Evidence that DDO cant math:

1) DDO has no calculator.

Go ahead and try to find one on this site, I dare ya

2) DDO cannot use a calculator

Its a website

3) DDO cant do math conversions

http://www.debate.org...

3 days < 10 days but 10 days is GREATER THAN 1 week, which DDO apparently doesnt know

http://www.debate.org...

4 weeks = 1 month, but apparently, DDO is not aware of such a concept.

DDO makes calculations and IS THEREFORE A CALCULATOR
DDO calculates: win ratio, ELO, percentile & forum post count http://www.debate.org...
This requires math.

http://www.debate.org...
It's deliberately and correctly sorted first by days/weeks/months unit of measurement and secondly by number, not by length of time.

Most months have more than 28 days (4 weeks) so often 1 month =/= 4 weeks.

"DDO makes calculations and IS THEREFORE A CALCULATOR"

Calculators dont make mistakes, whereas DDO does, therefore it cant be a calculator

"DDO calculates: win ratio, ELO"

It does a very terrible job at doing so

"It's sorted first by days/weeks/months unit of measurement"

The picture says 'Voting PERIOD', meaning it should be organized by length, not type.

"1 month =/= 4 weeks."

Months arent long enough to fill 5 weeks, since 31 is the max. A month is always closer to 4 weeks than 5.

"Calculators dont make mistakes, whereas DDO does"
I debunked these "mistakes"

"It does a very terrible job at doing so"
Pro gave no evidence to support this.

"The picture says 'Voting PERIOD', meaning it should be organized by length, not type."
"Voting Period" describes what they are, not how they are sorted.

"A month is always closer to 4 weeks than 5."
Closer to 4 weeks =/= 4 weeks

I debunked Pro"s claims that DDO does bad math.

But aren't you, The-Voice-of-Truth? Aren't we all just calculators deep down inside? Calculators looking for arithmetic equations that make us feel whole, rational, and complete?

DDO is not a calculator just because it calculates ELO and all that. I can calculate many math problems, but I am not a calculator.

It's as if DDO doesn't have a brain at all.

There's a literacy problem, it's as if DDO sees the words but can't comprehend them.

Reasons for voting decision: I think the opposite of the resolution is a truism, so con would have won anyway. Con shows exactly how DDO can do math and does a decent job at it.

Reasons for voting decision: I believe con refuted pro's arguments well. Pro's examples were good but they were too specific for a general statement that DDO can't do math or sucks at math.

Reasons for voting decision: DDO does calculate some things like win ratio, ELO, etc. which Con shows but Pro has a point that DDO does make mistakes over things like time periods for voting and forums. Pro wins that, but a few mistakes does not mean it sucks at math. When someone makes a post on forum, time is always added to how long ago that post was made. I think DDO has specific duration of time when a post is moved from 4 weeks to one month, so I guess you could say it does math here. I think Pro could have gave a bigger explanation on how ELO is incorrect. I know there is some controversy about it, but in this debate must explain what the problem with ELO is. Con wins here. Just because DDO doesn't have a calculator does mean things cannot be calculated. You also don't need a calculator to do math. Con was was actually able to prove DDO can do math with percentile calculations as well as adding up forums posts. For these reasons Con won.
