In the contemporary US, it is better to be female than male.

I't is true that the western world has come very far in regards of the rights of women. The modern american woman can be a single mother without being judged, have an abortion or have the opportunity for equal pay and career opportunities a man.

However despite the increasing rights of women in our society, it is still far more beneficial to be a male. This country has always awarded men in leadership positions, men are judged more by their character rather than their appearance. They are generally taken more seriously because of things such as their tone of voice, facial expressions, posture and of course height. Women still have the reputation of being weak and irrational, and if not they are a "bossy bitch". A man in a leadership position can be either authoritarian or sympathetic towards his subordinates while women don't have that second option, they have to be mean and aggressive to make their way in the management world.

Despite the fact that women need to work more to make themselves noticed, there are also several practical benefits to being male. As a male you have the freedom to walk down the street at night without the fear of being harassed and assaulted, its easier for you to enter political office, you can see your gender being widely represented in the media and have lower beauty standards imposed upon you, If you drive poorly it wont be attributed to your gender, people wont question your judgement because its your "time of the month" and you have the opportunity to practice a religion that doesn't propagate the idea that men aught to be in a position of authority over women.

While I would say that being a women in the United States is still superior to being a man in a developing country, to assume that being a woman in America is more beneficial is simply false.

Men are clustered at the top, that much is true. But they are also clustered at the bottom, abused and ostracized by the new age discourse of feminism. And overall, in the US, they are worse off than their female counterparts in numerous ways. Lets list them down.
1 is lifespan. For men it is 76.3 and women 81.3. That's 5 extra years. And, life is a prerequisite to anything else. Nagel: (http://dbanach.com......)
If death is the unequivocal and permanent end of our existence, (...) it can be said that life is all we have and the loss of it is the greatest loss we can sustain. (...) it is good simply to be alive, even if one is undergoing terrible experiences. (...) There are elements which (...) make life better; there are other elements which (...) make life worse. But what remains when these are set aside is (...) emphatically positive. Therefore life is worth living even when the bad elements of experience are plentiful, and the good ones too meager to outweigh the bad ones on their own. The additional positive weight is supplied by experience itself, rather than by any of its consequences. (...) this can be multiplied by time: more is better than less.
The end talks about multiplication. This means, taking away the first 2 years of our life since we don't experience anything then, neg must show being male is at least 6.7% better than being female to close this gap.
2 is education. The Economist: (economist.com/news/international/21645759-boys-are-being-outclassed-girls-both-school-and-university-and-gap and economist.com/news/leaders/21652323-blue-collar-men-rich-countries-are-trouble-they-must-learn-adapt-weaker-sex)
They earn fewer university degrees than women. Boys in the developed world are 50% more likely to flunk basic maths, reading and science entirely.
3 is domestic violence. I know, I know. Women are abused more often than men - but this is worse for the average man than it is for the average woman. Men are considered to be abusers even when it isn't the case. USATODAY: (http://college.usatoday.com...)
Solo has had an unflattering history (") Still, the backlash against Solo has been all quiet on the American front. (") While NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell faced rightful criticism after his initial lenient punishment for Rice, I hear little critique towards Team USA and their handling of Solo. Goodell directly addressed his mistakes. Soccer team officials have sidestepped Solo"s case. (") There is a difference on how we view female perpetrators."
This are just two notable cases, but facts back up the argument. Until 2012, the FBI"s definition of rape only applied to women, and males who were assaulted had their cases ignored. (https://www2.fbi.gov...) But The National Crime Victimization Survey found that 38 percent of rape incidents were against men, though earlier examples had shown it was from 5 to 14% of cases. Slate: (http://www.slate.com...)
"Incidents of sexual violence against men were under-reported. (") The experience of men and women is "a lot closer than any of us would expect," she says. (") we need to "completely rethink our assumptions about sexual victimization," and especially our fallback model that men are always the perpetrators and women the victims."
Like I said, this is worse for the average man than the average woman. Some women and a few less men are crippled for life, but because of what people assume, all men are treated as rapists, as you will see below. So this impacts men more adversely than women. Take the examples of Joe Lonsdale Jr. (http://www.businessinsider.com...) who was assumed to be guilty in a case despite the evidence being overwhelming on his side, even proving his ex's insanity, and Zachery Anderson (https://www.change.org...) who was sentenced for consensual sex. Laws overwhelmingly favor women and punish the average man in tons of ways.
4 is society's attitude. The Economist continues:
The OECD found that boys did much better in its anonymised tests than in teacher assessments. (...) women, who make up eight out of ten primary-school teachers and nearly seven in ten lower-secondary teachers, favour their own sex,(...) sexism is enshrined in law: Singapore still canes boys, while sparing girls the rod.
Konbini writes: (http://www.konbini.com...)
There are no government programs in place solely for the protection of men in the same way as women and children. Only 60 per cent of homeless women in London have actually ever slept on the streets. (...)divorce courts (...) favour women. Father"s rights comes as a distant second to the rights of mothers in our judicial system. Particularly in the United States, men are often deprived of even seeing their children and are forced to pay extortionate bills in order to spend time with their kids. Fathers get totally f****d in family courts, with mothers getting equal or superior custody arrangements in 91.1% of cases in feminised countries.
Time Magazine furthers this: (http://time.com...)
Experiments have shown that while people are quick to intervene when a man in a staged public quarrel becomes physically abusive to his girlfriend, reactions to a similar situation with the genders reversed mostly range from indifference to amusement or even sympathy for the woman. (...) these attitudes stem from traditional gender norms which treat victimhood, especially at a woman"s hands, as unmanly. (...)feminism, which regards sexual assault and domestic violence as byproducts of male power over women, tends to reinforce rather than challenge such double standards.
And more - Eagly and Mladnic explain: (http://www.tandfonline.com...)
In contemporary research, attitudes toward women appear to be more positive than those toward men ("), and the evaluative content of the female stereotype is more favorable than the evaluative content of the male stereotype. (")This targeted form of prejudice is consistent with the generally more favorable evaluation of women than men obtained in attitude and stereotype studies because this positive evaluation derives primarily from the ascription to women of nice, nurturant, communal characteristics.
I think you get the point - men are treated like garbage even though they are worse off! Men do worse in school yet are treated worse, live less long, get destroyed in courts, are homeless more often yet have no programs to protect them, and feminists just further this and will make this even worse over time. The ideas of feminism are outdated - men are worse off, don't be fooled. Vote affirmative.

First round was supposed to be acceptance but fine... I guess you can just basically speak first and then do nothing last round. I won't ask to drop the debater if you just use these terms.
