I know this is a topic that comes up constantly but i would like to state my arguments and opionons on it. I'm not looking for any certain style of debate i just want a debate where we try to prove to each other and to the voters why or why not marijuana should be legalized.

Round one is just acceptance and where you stand in the debate. Round 2 and on will be the debate where we argue.
I will be standing on the pro side of the resolution.
Thank you and good luck to my opponent.

I Thank my opponent for accepting. To clarify real fast when i say all uses in the resolution i mean all even if it is to get high and have a good time.

Point 1. We are currently spending an average of $23,000 per inmate for one year of prison and 30-40 percent of the inmates are in for marijuana related charges. By legalizing marijuana our tax rates would drop a decent amount due to the less amount of people in prison we would be paying for.

For one there has never been a cancer connected to marijuana, another point is that in diffrent states marijuana is already used for medical purposes. While there is some backfires to smoking marijuana they aren't nearly as harmful as stuff like smoking or alcohol.

Point 3. The legalization of marijuana would boost the economy. If we legalized this drug thousands if not more jobs would spring up all over the country exactly how could this be bad?

All in all i believe the legalization of marijuana would benefit the country more then the bit of harm it could cause, tha
