In this proposition, i would like to set the parameters in which castration be only implemented for serial rapists, incestual rapists, and those who rape minors.

To begin with, let me first define what castration is. Castration is any action, surgical, chemical, or otherwise, by which a male loses the functions of the testes or a female loses the functions of the ovaries.

These are the following points:

1)Castration can lessen the sex urge of a rapist once he was catrated.

2)It can help in the lessening of the rape cases in the Philippines.

3)The legalization of castration will force the medical personnels to develop a better technique and better facilities in conducting the necessary surgery.

4)It can lessen the pain that the rape victim is feeling.

These are some of the positive points on which castration should be legalized in the Philippines. More are coming up.

i disagree with this kind of idea because in the first place we are trying to abolish what God had told Adamand Eve which is to multiply. I know that it is very hard to accept that mostly, women are the victims of this kind of sin but let us also consider the fact that there must be another way on how to resolve this issue. Aside from putting away their manhood we will also put these men in great embarassment which i think i very unfair.

First and foremost Mr. Francis, as a standard rule in the debate, one shouldn't include religion and philosophy. That's one of your mistake.

Secondly, what other alternatives can you propose aside from castration?Do you this is a worthy and more applicable one?

To say to you Mr. Francis, castration is the best way to punish serial rapists, incestual rapists, and rapists of minor victims. This kind of punishment can give justice and contentment to the victim. A just punishment indeed! In such a way that the rapist will feel the equal pain his/her victim have felt.

Well, i don't have anything to say because Mr. Francis didn't post anything for me to argue with.

To conclude everything, I still strongly believe that castration should be legalized in the Philippines only to serial rapists, incestual rapists, and rapists of minor victims. This is to prevent and reduce rape cases by giving second thought to rapists and future ones.

I end with this.

May the best debater wins.

Paz!

Good day Mr. / Ms. Zainie, I did not say that there are cases nowadays about inserting a pencil in a woman's ******. I just defined what rape means globally, and I only cited some examples to clarify the definition of Rape.

And when you said that a person inserted an object, yes! there were cases done here in the Philippines

If you want a proof of a case done, this will be a link for that.

Thank you. I did not really expect anyone to ask me that question. How insulting. Thanks anyway

Wonder why this debate was set in the Philippines...
Minors are raped all over the world, after all.
Why not just debate it in general?

And "females losing the function of their ovaries" isn't exactly scary for women once they reach a certain age...

Anyway, I am always afraid whenever people say the government should start castrating criminals... Seems like drug users will be next... starting with the drugs used mainly by ethnic minorities...
The reason this punishment seems more prone to abuse is that it not only affects sex, but it affects reproduction. While I hardly think adults who have sex with minors should be having children, think of how tempting this precedent would be for a politician who wants to exclude traditional supporters of other political parties. Would they not find excuses to start castrating everyone who commits certain crimes, crimes that are statistically committed more by supporters of other parties? This then gives the government even more incentive to make biased laws and biased sentencing guidelines and to ignore due process. Innocent people would end up being castrated.

If destiny is found in demographics, then the ultimate election "fixer" is to take criminals in to be "fixed".

Another point,
if you are talking about "raping children", you are including consenting teenaged couples where the older one just reached the age of consent. Sometimes they are almost exactly the same age and were born weeks or days apart. I understand that the law would have the older partner stop having sex with his/her younger partner until s/he also reaches the age of consent (in a day, or whatever), but is castration a proportional punishment? I thought the law was supposed to be about fairness.

Mr. Jemual...do you think that will happen???..a man will enter a pencil to the vagina of a woman..huh?

even you have that point, raissaguldam cassiopeia gave the parameters that "castration be only implemented for serial rapists, incestual rapists, and those who rape minors."

and consider also the SITUATIONS in the Philippines...events happening now..

did you see any cases that a man have inserted a pencil to the woman's vagina in the Philippines??

raissaguldam cassiopeia have many good points in her side compared to the side of francis,

thank you,

While I don't agree, Francis' agruements as presented were weak. He also has the right to quote religious or philisophical viewpoints. He, however, forfeited.

i am dissappointed that the con side approached this debate from a religious aspect.... there were so many better ways to do it...

I believe that Castration is not the best solution for this problem. Life imprisonment is a better solution because you are monitored inside the prison and if you will rape a casual criminal inside the cell, no problem may occur because he did crimes and being a criminal means that he did something really bad, he won't allow to be raped (obviously)

Chemical castration or the usual castration may bring side effects like dizziness, loss of appetite, mental and emotional problems, etc. Castrating the person is like killing him, who would like to be castrated. A man will wish to die rather than castrated

Rape is defined as entering a sharp object forcely in a woman's ******. They can still insert a sharp object like a pencil, or a wedge or even a bottle. Even when a person is castrated, he can still rape a person.

Looking at the arguments presented, Raissa will surely win. Congratzz.

If only I was on yours shoes francis. *sigh*

l o l....yea your right....cauz this was just a comment...and if it is DEFINITION or EVIDENCE i copy paste it... but if it is in real debate...it is another story...

hehe...

and it is obvious that you will be the winner...if the member of these site OBSERVE the "ARGUMENTS" post by the debaters not the SIDES of the debaters..

thank you.,
