I realize that to some extent elders usually deserve more respect because of experience. I do not feel that someone who is older automatically is right when talking to someone younger. To me elderly people seem more entitled then they need to be. Youth also seem to be overly entitled too. Many people seem to feel that the younger you are, the less respect you deserve. I disagree with this.

Respecting your elders is still relevant, they've lived a long life and deserve respect for that. Also, many elders are friendly, so being friendly in return is only fair.

Yeah..You'd have a much easier time debating the resolution "Older people don't deserve more respect that younger people". Construct an opening argument that actually applies to the resolution, and someone might actually debate you.

"Respect to elders [is] still relevant" is VERY different from "elders don't deserve more respect than young people".
