-Minecraft offers a unique sandbox game which is more superior to Roblox.
Minecraft offers a simple and easy building system, but it has many flaws, such as being very time-consuming, it's hard to make great structures, and the fact that the entire game is mostly composed of cubes. Roblox however, offers 2 different building styles, a Minecraft-like building style called Stamper, and an editing type called Studio mode. Stamper allows you to create blocks and structures with pre-determined parts, and you can scale those parts to make giant structures in very little time. The Studio mode lets you create structures and items easily with little knowledge, and you can script and code many things, letting you create virtually anything you want. Compare this to Minecraft, with cubes and pixels, which can only let you use limited items predetermined by the game, while Roblox lets you create whatever building bricks you want. Roblox's building is on a far greater scale than Minecraft, allowing you to build what you want, how you want, while surpassing all of Minecraft's flaws.
-You can change gameplay easily
This too, is accessible in Roblox, however you can customize every single aspect of your game, letting you make it a RPG, a shooting game, an adventure game, and much more, no coding experience required. Minecraft however, only lets you change whether you can fly or not, what bricks you can use, and whether you can break blocks or not, along with a few others.
-Setting up a server is pretty easy
You can create a server pretty easily with a plugin/software downloaded from the Internet, which you have to configure, run, check stats, ect. Well in Roblox, you can set up a game in literally 4 clicks from the home page, no downloading necessary. You can even choose from preset games, in case you want to use an existing map, and the free models Roblox offers lets you add whatever you want from the game, that people have made worldwide.
-Minecraft's authenticity
Honestly, Roblox's version of a certain item compared to Minecraft's version is usually more aesthetic, with more detail. You have made no arguments showing how it misses the autenticity in Minecraft's version, or even if Minecraft's version has autenticity. Just look at these links comparing Roblox's version of an item to Minecraft's version of an item.

On to my arguments.

You can make money off Roblox.
You can build your place, have people visit it, and convert your earnings to Robux, and convert that to real money. Someone is even earning $10,000 monthly, while Minecraft does not allow you to earn money from selling items, because it violates their Terms of service by selling a part of their game.

Roblox releases updates quickly
Minecraft's updates take lots of time, and usually release new blocks, items, and mobs, things like that. However Roblox's updates take only 1-2 weeks, and add new concepts that are benificial to your building, such as the more recent one solid modelling, which lets you create virtually any block you want. This new concept also lets you remove lag from your games by getting rid of dozens of parts. Roblox also releases new textures, which can be combined with colours to create up to 1216,000different blocks.

Free to Play
Roblox is free, and every single one of it's payable features are optional. You do not need to pay for creating games, downloading plugins, and scripting objects. The only things you would want to pay for are an optional membership which grants you robux and tools for your place, and certain amounts of Robux which you can easily get by converting your money.

Con

My opponent has made some very interesting claims on why Roblox is better. Lets show why they are wrong and see if he is still in the same mindset.

Time comsuming? In what ways is minecraft time consuming? Sure if you are inexperienced at creative mode but that's not why people get Minecraft they get it for survival mode.

Change gameplay?

Simple use mods to help change the way you play. You can get RPG, FPS, (minecraft is already adventure) adventure, and more just as Pro said.

In Roblox you have to be pretty well known or have a lot of friends or your server will be empty, which isn't true for Minecraft because there are more MC players than RO players.

Authenticity?

What makes MC better than RO is building room, you have more space to build. This is key, the more space that you have the bettter your things are going to be. Also Minecraft has more items to use than Roblox even without including Mods.

Make money

My opponent failed to mention that to be part of the community you have to pay $200-$500 a year. While Minecraft is $20 and you get to keep it forever.

Updates

Roblox's update system goes for quantity not quality. Sure everynow and then they have a good update but more often than not all they do is add little things.

Free to Play?

Roblox is another one of the games that few ever realize is, "Free to play, Pay to win." Such as The Builders Club account which is in fact needed to use most of the features described by Pro.

Now to my arguments.

Platforms

Minecraft is offered on the following platforms: PC(on or offline), Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Android, iOS.

Roblox is offered on the following platforms:PC(Online), Android, iOs.

A wide variety of user-generated content for Minecraft, such as modifications, texture packs and custom maps, is available for download from the Internet. Modifications of the Minecraft code, called mods, add a variety of gameplay changes, ranging from new blocks, new items, new mobs to entire arrays of mechanisms to craft. The modding community is responsible for a substantial supply of mods from ones that enhance gameplay, such as mini maps, waypoints, and durability counters, to ones that add to the game elements fromPok"mon,Portal, and The Hunger Games. To make mods easier to create and install, Mojang announced in November 2012 that it plans to add an official modding API.As of 2014, Mojang has yet to reveal more about their modding API.
Texture packs that customize the game's graphics are also available. In version 1.6, texture packs were replaced with "resource packs". These play the same role as texture packs, but allow custom sounds as well.[98]Custom maps have become popular as well. Players can create their own maps, which often contain rules, challenges, puzzles and quests, and share them for others to play. In version 1.3Mojang Added adventure mode[40]for custom maps and in 1.4,Mojang Added command blocks, which were created specially for custom maps. Minecraft 1.8, Mojang is planning to allow resource packs to be implemented into the world save.[99]
The Xbox 360 Edition Supports Downloadable content, which is available to purchase via the Xbox Games Store; these content packs usually contain additional character skins.[100]It later received support for texture packs in its twelfth title update while introducing "mash-up packs", which combines texture packs with skin packs and changes to the game's sounds, music and user interface.[101]The first mash-up pack (and by extension, the first texture pack) for the Xbox 360 Edition Was released on September 4, 2013, and is themed after the Mass Effect Franchise. Unlike the PC version, however, the Xbox 360 Edition Does not support player-made mods or custom maps.

As Roblox moderators work to maintain a safe environment for children, many aspects of the site are moderated, such as the game's forum and chat logs. If a player violates the conditions of use, a moderation action may be taken on the account, which may be terminated or prevented from using the website for a determined period. When a player's account is deactivated, other users are no longer able to view the user's profile, statistics, or inventory (the profile will be replaced by the message "The item you requested does not exist"), though they can still play games created by the player. Inappropriate usernames are changed to "[Content Deleted]" with several numbers afterwards and the usual removal of the ability to view the profile; similarly, the name of content also deemed inappropriate is also changed to "[Content Deleted]".

Both games are good and Roblox might have been able to win in my opinion if it didn't go crazy with prices and bad community. Minecraft is a very good and fun choice, you can build huge structures and survive wave after wave of zombies and teleport to a mysterious world known as, "The Nether." Roblox has about 2 or 3 million people since 70% either never play, log on once a year, or are just alts. Minecraft has about 7 million who bought the game and are playing it with millions more a part of the community.

It doesn't look like you've done much research on both sides, as many of your arguments are false and you have failed to provide any proof.

Minecraft is obviously time consuming when building in creative mode, because of Minecraft's limited system which only lets you build one block at a time. Timelapses obviously prove this, as they appear to take 7 minutes to build, however they are sped up, they are actually taking dozens of hours to build, as you can see in this video, https://www.youtube.com... have not proven your statement that people get Minecraft for survival mode, care to emphasize on that?

You say that mods change your gameplay, however you cannot truly change it the way you want like Roblox, as the mods in Minecraft take a while to install. You must navigate through folders, and download more than one mod for big mods, and you can only choose from mods that change the gameplay of Minecraft while keeping the old things, which is different for Roblox.

"In Roblox you have to be pretty well known or have a lot of friends or your server will be empty" This isn't true at all, as there are many people that aren't well known or have no friends, but still get place visits, the main part is how good you are.

It appears you have to recheck your data.

There are not more Minecraft players than Roblox players,Minecraft has about 17 million people, while Roblox has about 67 million people. There is a Roblox admin named Builderman, and all Players are automatically friended with him when their account is created, so if you see how many friends he has, there are 66944185 people. Most of these are alternate accounts and deactivated accounts, so even a third of it is still more than Minecraft's players.

You claim that you have more space to build in Minecraft but you have an INFINITE amount of space to build in Roblox. Minecraft actually has a world that closes off after around 10,000 blocks.

The membership service of Roblox is completely optional, and to gain some money, you simply pay a one time payment of $60 every time you recieve money. The least amount of money you can get is $200, so you can still make a $140 profit.

Roblox is free to play and will always be free to play.
I already stated that you do not need to pay for creating games, downloading plugins, and scripting objects. The only things you need to pay for are multiple games, which doesn't really matter with the new game system that lets you create multiple games in once system. You can also get an in-game currency, which is not required at all. In fact, every single claim I made above is free, which makes me question Con's logic.

People who get banned from Roblox are banned for not following the rules, do you complain about police officers arresting people? In fact, I would think Minecraft is the bad one, having no rules.

Really, Con? Copying and pasting an article from Wikipedia? This is a new low.

As you can see with this link here; http://en.wikipedia.org...
Con has shamefully copied and pasted an article from Wikipedia to use as his argument. It is plagiarizism and it shows that Con has no creativity.

Roblox has about 22 million active people, and Minecraft has 17 million, you do the math. Everyone plays and invents games, and people have fun. Vote Pro.

First of all I would like to formally apologize for c/p an article. This was not my original intent, I was going to paraphrase it, got tired of flipping tabs and c/p'd it into my arguments but forgot to paraphrase it. Again I am sorry, it will not happen again.

I probably won't be able to post my arguments for this round.
