I read your debate and decided I wanted to take a swing at it!

I myself pretty much support all forms of gay rights. I believe that they should be able to marry and practice the lifestyle of their choosing.

One thing that makes me uncomfortable, however, is the idea of a gay couple raising a child.

The way is see it, its like this.
A same-sex marriage is not the ideal place for child-rearing. It does not provide a mother-father foundation, or a traditional nuclear family. It is not natural, and it leaves an emotional storm for the child as they grow older.

Ill leave it like that for now and let my opponent address the issue.

Let me start with this question, you don't think it should be allowed, because it makes you uncomfortable? That's really not a good reason to keep two people from having a baby.

Second, it's kind of hypocritical of you to support gay rights but not a gay couple having kids. Obviously you don't support them, because if you truly did, you wouldn't be uncomfortable with them having children.

Do you think that the invitro treatment is what's unnatural? Just trying to clear that up.

When a mother puts her baby up for adoption, that means she can't take care of her child, for whatever reason. To me that means that that child needs a loving home. A same-sex couple is going to love their baby and I think that's all that matters.

As I pointed out on my last debate, a child is going to be bullied no matter who their parents are. It's a well-known fact that kids get teased, so it's going to happen, and I don't think that's a reason to keep a couple from having a child.

Your turn.

Basically, I feel the same way. I need my opponent to post an argument before I do annything else. So, his turn.

I guess that I'll sum up what I believe.

I think that same-sex couples deserve to have a child just as much as a "normal" couple would. They would give it love, shelter and a family. I believe that's all a child needs. As long as it has a loving household, it's really got a great life.

I guess my opponent didn't care enough to debate, even though he started it.

I will never vote for anyone who bases their argument on "I feel it should be so." Give me at least one good scientific reason, or at least an expert opinion.

So far PRO has my vote because CON forfeited the rounds and his point made no sense an was backed up by no evidence.
