In this debate, I will be arguing that school is not necessary for success. The word school can include K-12 and beyond.

School teaches people life skills that can be put to the test and without school, people would not be equipped for success. I am definitely not saying that you cannot be successful without school, but saying that school presents a higher percentage of people gaining success in the future (e.g. more schooling ones does, the more likely they will be successful).

I completely agree that it's a waste of time. I do however like that my son goes to school, so he can learn to be a sociable person. We're social creatures, so having him interact with children his age is necessary so he knows how to work with people when he gets older. Unfortunately, many adults forget this as they hide behind their computers rather than getting out and socializing themselves.

I think people skills are very important for success. Also, going to school doesn't necessarily = education. I would've rather learned how real estate/ business work, or how money works or contracts, or how credit works or something like that. You know, the things that can affect your life in the real world.

I agree. But some education is necessary, and I learn more by myself than any school would teach me.
