I accept this debate. I think segregation would be a positive step in today's world - at least temporarily.

I will argue that segregation, most specifically cultural segregation could be a positive move. Other types of segregation exist, however, and I will not be defending them all with the same weight, but possibly still providing arguments defending those other types of segregation as well.

My support towards the idea of segregation is relatively recent and does not come from bias or hatred, but a genuine belief that it would benefit mankind.

Good luck, I'm looking forward to have my ideas tested.

I think it was agreed that this debate is pretty much over, I recall Con mentioning being too busy and yet to be able to make his opening argument.

Well your intended structure of the debate has gone out of the Window, so I think that would be a better idea.

Which segregation are you speaking of? Because each type is dealt with or viewed differently...For example, I support boys and girls being separated, particularly in middle school (not high school). I was a middle school teacher, and the kids are really not mature enough to deal with their hormones. Racial segregation, no. Economic segregation already exists beyond any type of control. Academic segregation, yes. I don't think smart kids should be mixed with academically-challenged kids.

"While some critics may equate separatism and religious segregation, racist segregation, or sexist segregation, some separatists argue that separation by choice is not the same as government-enforced segregation and may serve useful purposes"
- Wikipedia on 'separatism'

To be honest, I accepted this debate with regards to what the latter part of that paragraph says is separatism, but Con didn't specify which kind of segregation he was referring to, and my dictionary simply says "to separate (esp. racial group) from the rest of the community".

I'm certainly against segregation based on things people cannot choose from birth, but then again, a lot of people are generally born into cultures simply by being the child of their parents, which is similar in a lot of ways.

I also didn't want to argue that people should be forced away from each other permanently, but that the world should be more equally divided between different cultures - and it is up to those cultures to decide whether they want to allow people from other cultures into theirs. And in many cases, this will LOOK like racial separation even when it isn't.

Of course genocide isn't good... it causes physical harm. How is that in any way relevant to this discussion? And why are you suddenly bringing up STD's, do you have one?

This isn't the 50s kid. This is seriously the dumbest "debate" i've seen in a while. I mean... I don't know... is genocide good? Are STD's a bummer?

Dude, I think you're referring to me. I also think you're mixing up the word segregation with separatism.
