This will be a battle of short poems; 12 lines or less. By a line, I do not mean a sentence, I mean a horizontal line of text.

The 1st round is for accepting the debate, poems begin with the 2nd round. Feel free to tell us anything you want about the poem in single paragraph before or after the poem. Thanks in advance to whoever accepts the debate, and I look forward to reading your poems.

Thank you FreeThinker for accepting this challenge, and yes the poems must be your own. Here is my first:

He Who

He is a fool, who knows he is not
And has not a thing, who thinks he has got
He hobbles in chains, who believes himself free
And is pieces of you, who has called himself "me."

Explanation:
This poem is not specifically about me; it is about all people, and the ideas we are very often sure of, but which I think are only the limited human perspective of a much broader existence. For a number of years, I have wrestled with the philosophical implications of modern science, including the Uncertainty principal, as well as the foundations of science - the principal of Causality, Locality and Identity. These ideas suggest to me that humans are not what we often perceive ourselves to be; indeed that the idea of a "self" or of "knowledge" or "choice" may only be illusions created by our limited understanding.

Do you have to come up with the poems or can you use another poet's or person's poem?

Thanks.
