I think Barack Obama should be elected back into office for a second term because he is a good president for this country. Anybody who wishes to oppose this should be con in this debate.

My opponent has not made any arguments, except to say what here opinion is, so I will assume this round is for acceptance and let my opponent make her case in round 2.

I look forward to a good debate. Good luck pro!

Alright, Barack Obama should be elected back into office for the fact that he has done numerous things for this country. Most people will say he screwed our economy, or he screwed our debt more than it already was, but any president that might of been in office at that time would be penalized for that. So, therefore he shouldn't be considered a bad president for that reason. Another reason why he should be elected back into office is that he helped the people who needed health care and all that stuff, and he did pass laws that helped this country.

C.1 Debt:

Obama has tripled the deficit, added more to the debt than all of the American presidents combined, and has stunted economic growth.[1] This has brought the debt to a current figure of 14.8 trillion.[2] If Obama continues in office for a second term there is no reason to believe he will not stop spending.

C.2 Unemployment:

Back in 2009 Obama said that he would create or save 3.5 million jobs over the next to years. He promised the unemployment rate would not rise above 8.5 percent. He promised by the end of 2010 it would drop to 7.25 percent.

Despite his promises the unemployment went way higher than he promised reaching it's peak at 10.2 percent. [3]

C.3 Welfare:

Welfare (in its current state) is for the most part is a bad thing. It supports laziness, and getting paid for doing nothing, and it gives money for people to buy drugs. Not all people who are on welfare are like that, but there are many. Baltimore (where I live) has one of the worst crime rates in America, and many people are on welfare. These people should be out looking for jobs, but they don’t need too so they don’t have anything to do. They need to be kept busy.

Many people take welfare and it adds a lot to our debt. It takes the tax payers money, who often don’t agree with it. Obama fully supports welfare and promotes it.

With Obamas 2011 budget, spending on welfare programs will increase by 42 percent over former presidents Bush's last year in office.

Total spending on the welfare state (including state spending) will rise to $953 billion in 2011. [4]

C.4 Tax payers money:

Earlier last year Obama’s family had a trip to Spain that cost millions. They flew first class, and stayed in a 5 star hotel and guess what they even invited their friends along too. This was all paid for buy the tax payers. I know millions of dollars does nothing to dent our economy, but this is just ridiculous. An already over taxed people have to pay for the presidents expensive vocation. [5]

Obama broke his promise not to raise taxes on families making less that $250,00 per year. [8]

C.5 Bad image:

Obama has numerous times purposefully insulted England our allies. Obama returned a gift which Great Britain had given to us on nine eleven as a symbol of unity.

Britain’s prime minister visited the US and gave Obama a bunch of gifts. Some of them extremely valuable. In return Obama gave him 25 DVDs that can’t even be played in the UK. [6]

England I may note are our biggest allies.

One time Obama sent a letter to the wrong president of France. He sent it to the former president in stead of the current president. [7]]

Rebuttal:

//Most people will say he screwed our economy, or he screwed our debt more than it already was, but any president that might of been in office at that time would be penalized for that. So, therefore he shouldn't be considered a bad president for that reason.//

I really do not follow my opponents reasoning. She seems to be saying that because other presidents would be penalized for doing the same thing Obama has done he shouldn't be considered a bad president. This makes no sense so I would like to ask my opponent to expand more in the next round.

//Another reason why he should be elected back into office is that he helped the people who needed health care and all that stuff//

Zero evidence, and also refer to my 3rd and 4th contentions.

//and he did pass laws that helped this country.//

Pro can't even name one law, and gives zero backing, and zero evidence to this claim.

Okay, I assume you mean you can't respond, in this round, to my arguments. Not that you can't respond at all.

Please extend arguments.
