Con

I would like to thank my opponent for making this debate.

I await my opponent's affirmation, definitions, and supporting information for the affirmation.

Affirmation - an affirmation is a statement you are trying to debate for. Usually done in the "I affirm that _Topic___of___debate" format.

Definitions and Explanation: Here is where you should define any terms in either your affirmation or supporting information that may be unclear to readers and/or your opponent. You can also explain what you mean about points in your affirmation if they could possibly come across as unclear

Supporting Information - This is where you would include reasons why this man should be allowed on walks. This should include factual information (Please cite your sources), logical reasoning, and all the benefits such an action would cause. You can also refute any reasons you might think could be brought up as a con.

Thanks and good luck on the debate!

No he should not! The guy he killed is a good friend of mine, my boyfriends and a lot of my friends and family. Maybe if he put down the meth pipe than he wouldn't have done what he did and said that god told him to do it. He's a psycho and deserves the death penalty rather than be in Selkirk.. Too bad there is no death penalty here.

Punishment is not the answer. Rehabilitation is.

He needs to be kept under lock-down. It's stupid to allow him to have walks without secure boundaries and only two staff members with him. The reason he's there is based off a spontaneous and impulsive action he took on a random day. It's not that hard to get away from two staff members who are exhausted by dealing with nut jobs all day and get bored from repeatedly being forced to take a killer on a walk.

He's clearly insane. It's not right to be cruel towards him. Walks sound like good therapy. Which is what he needs.

I'm considering arguing that he should not be allowed to have walks at all. At least not the walks they may allow him. I usually support the rehabilitation of criminals, but what he did was completely sick. Killing a stranger for no reason and ending by eating parts of the victim? I bet the victim would have liked a nice walk - if he were alive.
