Cellphones should not be allowed in school because they cause to many distractions and it is not fair to those who do not have a phone to see others playing on it. Also schools are meant to be places of learning and education not socialization and texting.
Cellphone should be allowed in schools because while cellphones can be a distraction for some students if there are proper rules set in place then they can be used to call someone's parents if it is neccecary. This provides a alternate solution to having to use a school phone. Also these phones can be used as cameras which can be useful for recording things in science or taking pictures of certain things in English. I believe that phones can be helpful to students if proper restrictions are put in place.
Though rules can be set so that the phones are used properly, what will happen the most is that children will break the rules and cause distractions in class. When children have phones in class a bully can use the phone to bully someone else and it would be hard to trace it back to them. Since there are no phones it is easier for parents/teachers to find and stop the bullying.
Bullying could happen with phones either at home or at school it hard to trace either way. Distractions will be caused in school either with phones or without. If distractions are caused then the teacher can take the phone away and not give it back for a long time. Phones can always be a distraction but if they are used correctly for searches online or other things, they can be a valuable asset to schools.
