I have to say that when everyone gets trophies for "participating" isn't fair. The team that really deserved it doesn't feel they did deserve it. Trophies cost a lot of money that can be spent on more useful items, such as savings towards when the town has bad economy. Many towns who don't give trophies to everyone are a lot safer for when the town needs money for extra things. For instance: Kayleigh was tied in the final game, the championship, and she was dribbling up the field. She dodged the defenders, then passed across to Lucy just before the sweeper. Lucy passed back and Kayleigh swept her kelete into the grass and hit the ball into the upper right corner, as the keeper jumped and fell. Kayleigh and Lucy screamed with joy because the keeper had missed. They had won the game!! The went over to the side lines where their coached actually hugged them!! They received big trophies. As Kayleigh and Lucy started a chant to say they appreciate the other team, the team went under the bridge they had made, carrying trophies in their arms. Kayleigh frowned and glanced over at Abby, the keeper for her team. They couldn't believe it! They felt like their trophies didn't matter. It wasn't fair. {}{}[][] Okay, that was it. Could you see how the trophies the winning team didn't special any more? The team was very sad. It isn't fair to do that

Thank you for your argument. I will start of with some rebuttal.

'Trophies cost a lot of money that can be spent on more useful items, such as savings towards when the town has bad economy.'
In that quote you said that trophies cost a lot of money and hat statement is incorrect as there are some trophies which a relatively cheap. For example some of the trophies in this website are under £5 and can therefore be easily bought for all participants without affecting the economy of a town.

'They felt like their trophies didn't matter. It wasn't fair. {}{}[][] Okay, that was it. Could you see how the trophies the winning team didn't special any more? The team was very sad. It isn't fair to do that'
The value of a trophy comes from what you receive it for, and in that situation Lucy and her team received a trophy for winning the championship while the other team won the trophy for participation. Due to the fact that the other team know they received the trophy for participation, they would still have preferred to win the trophy which is given if you win the championship as the personal value of that would be higher.

To conclude my first argument I will ask you a question. Would you prefer to get a medal for participating or a medal for winning? The obvious answer is a medal for winning as the fact that you won whatever activity you did will be symbolised in the medal you received for winning meaning that its worth is not reduced.
