Furries are cringe, furries are the reason /b/ is corrupted, furries are the reason cancer exists, their fetish reaches out to people and it corrupts young minds with porn, embarrassment, and cringe.

Furries is indeed an odd fetish and thing to exist in the world. However, that being said, there is no true argument that can be made that says why they shouldn't exist. There billions of people in the world, doing billions of things and thinking in billions of different ways. Where one man finds enjoyment in going out, another man finds enjoyment in staying at home. Where one woman finds joy in applying makeup, another woman finds joy in going out without the application of makeup. The same can be said for fetishes and individual tastes. There are many things in the world that I personally feel should and shouldn't exist. Yet, presenting the opinions on that would result in a fallacious argument. Rather, the fact stands and will remain that, if something can be, than it more than likely will be. In the case of Furries, the fact that some (if not many) people find their pleasure in the depiction of humanoid animals in sexual situations, then there is nothing short of brainwashing that can change that niche in their minds. Whether you feel they should or shouldn't exist is irrational to whether or not they really should or shouldn't exist. Your distastes is another's tastes, what you disapprove of can easily be ignored and approved by someone else. Simply said, if you think that it corrupts children and is a cringe on society, then keep your children away from it and deny its existence in your den. Otherwise, join me and accept that because it can, it will, and because it does, then the only thing that says it shouldn't is the meager opinion one could make against the fetish of another.

Maybe I didn't state it clearly, is it morally right for furries to be excommunicated from existence? In this case I'm pro. Not the people, but the culture itself really. It's a completely idiotic idea, practically fulfilling a person's need for bestiality while somehow not being because they can talk? Never mind the cringe, if I started drawing bestiality, everyone would freak out, so what's the difference with furries? Don't you find the corruption of young minds bad? Porn's fine, at least it supports uniracial sex (with some exceptions) but if a kid becomes a furry, they're gonna find the porn stuff, and that's when they can never go back. y'know?

Thank you for the clarification. Now then, morally speaking, it is not right to excommunicate furries from existence. We need to look at it from a public viewpoint, the public made the fetish and the public allowed it to exist when it first began to spread. The public may have had biased views and opinions, but in the end, the public allowed it to continue and now it is what it is today. While I am forced to agree that the furry fetish is one shunned by myself, I cannot agree that simply because of an opinion that it should be excommunicated. Bestiality is an understandable argument, and is even illegal in some places. Furries was soon as the people's loophole. Making something humanoid and able to speak does not make it human, nor does it make it an instinctual animal; and that's where the societal line is drawn actually. Bestiality is to commit a sexual act with a nonhuman animal. Furries are animals made to look, act, talk, and bang like humans. The way society sees it, if it kinda looks like us, talks like us, acts like us, "thinks" like us, and so forth, then it is more or less like a human. We cannot truly say whether it is fully right or fully wrong, but I can assure that it draws itself a border from bestiality in its own right despite the similarities. Moving on, young minds will always be corrupted. That is how children who are still developing learn. Which makes it ever more important why a real parent is needed so that the child has someone to talk to and wisdom to gain from. Not every child is told how a baby is made when their parents decide it's time, most children nowadays learn it from TV or movies or even their peers. Not all children learn of death as early others, some learn it in the worst ways possible and some learn it in subtle ways for them to piece together. Overall, it is when a child's mind is introduced to a form of "corruption" that it can begin to decipher its meaning, and in that process they are learning. I am not saying lets begin showing furry porn and murdering people in front of our kids, I am saying that nearly everything a child learns will be considered corruptive, and it is up to the child and their parents to learn to cope with it. There is no pure mind, and the "corruption" of young minds is only considered to be bad if you could provide better examples than to be exposed to another fetish on the internet. Also, to say that porn is fine when talking about the corruption of a child's mind is biased. For one, pornography can be considerably more graphic than what most would actually do to expose a child to that is like ripping off a Band-Aid from a wound that didn't even exist in the first place. In addition to that, hentai has also been introduced and depicts anime girls being ravaged by giant anime animals and demons, not excluding the ones whose appendages consists of either a really long tongue capable of a diverse range of movements, but also tentacles and such. Plus, the introduction of anime girls bearing feline appendages exists as well, these "Cat-Girls" act and even look like cats in humanoid form. Bearing tails, pointed furry ears, the fangs, sometimes assorted d"cor on the body. Would that not be considered among the ranks of Furries? If not, what's the difference between hentai with animals, demons, halfbreeds and furries? Finally, should a child or adolescent be searching up the porn stuff or encountering furry comics and eventually the graphic comics and videos, they can always go back. Not all children are capable of going to someone they trust enough to talk to, and not all are capable enough of reasoning what it is going on. However, being exposed to something does not automatically lead to the immediate addiction of said thing. Anyone can go back, it's more a matter of mental strength and will than it is the object.

I know this is over and done by a year, but the Furry Fandom isn't even a fetish. The fandom is about people who like anthropomorphic animals, but the sexual side I feel has been pushed out to the public too much. Most people I've seen or heard calling Furries "disgusting degenerates" are usually those who I believe are quite close-minded seeing as they decide to hate something that has no affect on their, or anyone else's lives at all.

Reasons for voting decision: Con's arguments were essentially unsubstantiated claims based on personal opinion: furries make his cringe and knowledge of their existence could corrupt children therefore they shouldn't exist, etc. Pro explains that while it's not for everyone, there's no basis to actually eliminate it, and that can easily ignore it and shield children from its existence. Additionally, Pro went into further detail in the general arguments overall.
