I believe in the following argument:

Gay Marriage is a violation of God's holy word, The Bible, and should not be legalized. Marriage is, and always has been, defined as unity between a man and a woman. Why should we ruin what has always worked? The Day of Judgement is coming, and those who support the works of evil shall feel his wrath.

America has always been a secular society. THERE is a separation between church and state. The con based most of his arguments on the bible. However, this is denoting that he is putting into a vote a CHRISTIAN belief. There is no chief religion in America. And they deserve rights. They have just as much rights as we both do. So they should be allowed to get married because they love each other, and that's all that matters for them.

Good point. Ok, so my first argument was mainly from a religious standpoint.

Then, if we legalize Gay Marriage, what will we do about the riots? On more than one occasion throughout the past 10 years, people of "straight" orientation have rioted, and often murdered those who were gay and spoke out about it. If we legalize Gay marriage, can you imagine the impacts? You think Gays are sad now? If we legalize Gay marriage, how much more sad do you think they'll be when they are being murdered for marriage? Riots will ensue. Suicides will transform into homicides. You will have the 2nd Civil War on your hands. "Homosexuals vs. Heterosexuals."

What riots? There have been no riots. They can riot for what they believe in, but that's as far as they can go. People won't kill other people just for being gay. They know that it is immoral, taking another's life. If they want to riot, then let them. The case of this debate is ONLY about legalizing gay marriage, though, so...

There were no instances of murder, eh?

March 11, 2008. A Tennessee 15-year-old boy was murdered by 3 men (23, 24, and 26) for being gay. They wrote, and I quote: "the gay kid is a dumbfuk-i hate people like him."

August 22, 2009. Steven Parrish, from Baltimore, was stomped and stabbed to death by two teenagers. Steven T. Hollis, 18, and Juan L. Flythe, 17 were the culprits. He suffered 50 cuts to the wrists, head, neck, back and legs and was pronounced dead upon arriving at the hospital.

So, there you have it. Homosexuals are being murdered for being gay and pronouncing it. If you legalize gay marriage, we're talking about hundreds of thousands more people opening up to the world, ultimately putting a target on their backs for bloodthirsty murderers out there. If we legalize gay marriage, then you are allowing people to be murdered.

Let me put it in this scenario.
America is a mother. Homosexuals are the kid. The kid wants to go out tonight. The mother knows that tonight looks suspicious, and it wouldn't be good for the child. The mom says No. The child complains and whines and pouts. If the mother gives in to the kids demands, not only does she look weak, but she puts the child in grave danger when she know that the kid should be going out that night.
Let us be good parents, and do what we know is best.

So, as I said before. You will have the American Civil War 2 on your hands. Homosexuals vs. Heterosexuals. I'm totally fine with Homosexuals being in love, but not marriage. You can be in love secretly. You can't be married secretly. If you want to save lives, and prevent the bloodiest war in American history from happening AGAIN, I only say this...

DO NOT LEGALIZE GAY MARRIAGE.

Protect America and her citizens. Vote Negative, because the Affirmative has not provided any impacts, or really, any reasons why Gay marriage should be legalized.

Protect the Status Quo.
SECXIIKILLA

Pro

Okay. Brief summary. Gay marriage should be legalized because gay people have just the same rights as we do. The Con says that all these incidents happen, but they really are just small ones. And I will refute the con's point on "civil war,". Gay marriage is legalized in SEVEN STATES. In those six states, people have been calm about this issue. Gay marriage is legalized in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa, Vermont, Maine and New Hampshire, and California too. There has not been a "civil war" like the con said. So this point that the con has layed out should be counted as a null or for the pro.

There is a huge fallacy in your statements. You say if we legalize gay marriage, that riots will ensue. Do you remember the legalization of desegregation? Where all segregated communities had to legally accept African-Americans into society? That passage in law itself had a huge social impact on America during that time period. Sure, they're were a few "riots", which were more like small protests that occurred, but it never got out hand. The American public isn't dumb enough to argue or fight with law now in days when it comes to granting a certain group of people actual rights, because does not America represent personal freedom? It would be a contradiction of the traditional American beliefs as well as a paradox if America was to not let all human beings/citizens in the U.S. to have rights if we forbade them to a certain group of people. I find your argument even funny as well seeing that you are black, if you can catch my drift in referring to what the Civil Rights Movement was mostly about in regards to the skin color of people. Arguing for a law to be passed because of religion is illogical. If we go off that reasoning, all blacks should still be slaves, as white Europeans in the old days assumed that blacks were slaves & evil because they were considered the son's of Ham, the individual who committed sin & therefore had to go to hell, which in terms means South (Africa) of his original locati

The Bible never states anywhere that you can only marry one person. So should we legalize polygamy because the Bible never condemns it? LOL absolutely not. The Bible should not be the base of any laws we change. If anything, the Bible is the laughing stock of the secular society. Full of genocide and hate and contradictions... It has no place in a society where freedom is the most important right to its citizens.

Con - You can't have gay marriage because it goes against God's word. Pro - Well, that argument doesn't work because we live in a secular society and people should have equal rights regardless of others' religious beliefs. Con - True. But there could be riots. Pro - So? This may or may not happen; gay marriage has been legalized in places before and no riots occurred.

RFD: The instigator of a non-agnostic resolution has the burden of proof; Con did not fulfill the burden, or rather make any unrefuted argument in his favor.
