Illegal Immigration is sapping our nation's economy. They actually made negative money for our country in 2010! Is that ridiculous or what? I don't want anyone ruining my country before I can vote to stop it!

They should be deported. If they want to create a Communist hellhole, they should go to Venezuela and mourn for Hugo. We don't want them here. Their children are too stupid and bratty to learn English! One twenty-fifth of the USA makes up one third of our federal prisons!

I don't care if it's a mother in search of a better life for her unborn baby! She should have to wait like the ones in Africa or India for a passport! If she can't do that, she gets punished for impatience.

First, I would like to thank my opponent for this opportunity. Let us begin.

In this debate there should be no lack of citation for evidence. Please support your claims with reputable sources as defined by (1).

In 2010, there were approximately 11.2 million undocumented immigrants in the United States with about 5%(~8 million) contributing to the U.S. labor force (2). In terms of how they have benefited the U.S., they spend money here on goods and services, and actually contribute to our economy. According to (3), "economists generally believe that when averaged over the whole economy, the effect is a small net positive."

Whether or not an undocumented immigrant should be deported is relevant to this subject. Often times, the efforts of our nation to deport the immigrants barely reduces the amount of undocumented immigrants that remain within the U.S. (5). This means that deportation for the amount that the U.S. spends in its efforts to protect the border ineffective, in terms of undocumented immigration.

The point brought up about the children of undocumented immigrants being stupid and bratty is an opinion of my opponent. This should not have sway in this argument, as many of the children who are of undocumented workers go to our own schools. We do often do not deny them an education.

My opponent talks about how our prisons are filled, but does not remark on how this is relevant to the topic on undocumented immigrants.

Often times the wait for a passport can be several years (4). If you had to wait several years to see your family again, would you be patient? When life is so short, time is of the essence.

Overall, there are hardly any disadvantages to undocumented immigrants moving into the United States, and there are actual benefits that can be associated with this phenomena.

Reasons for voting decision: A poor debate. Pro didn't provide references to back up any of his claims. I think Con's arguments are actually doubtful, but they were properly supported by references and Pro forfeited without arguing them. Forfeits on both sides cancel conduct.
