India is a very developing country. It has been one of the countries which has been dedicated towards peacekeeping in the world. It has never been on the side to initiate any war. As the main aim of UN is to maintain peace and order in the world India should be made a permanent member of UN.

Fully Agree with the argument said by pro member but India is still a developing nation and she has just start contributing to international cadre. India is still not in the front line in the fields like Science, technology, Infrastructure, Economic stability (If a take an exception of 2008 great depression), Current Stability, Manufacturing and many more. I'm not saying that India wont prove its potential in near future but the point is just give her some time.
India is a developing economy and will become a super power in 2020 probably but presently she is not so strong as that of other permanent members. I think UN council should take some time to add India as a permanent member.

India already is a permanent member of the United Nations. I think what you mean to say is "should India be a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council?"

Currently there are only 5 permanent members in the Security Council, which include the U.S., Britain, France, Russia, China. There are other rotating member nations on the security council that are not permanent, too.

As the topic suggests its about India becoming a permanent member of the already existing 5 permanent members of UN. These members are UK, USA, France, Russia and China
