Many children think school is a boring area to be at and wish to be somewhere else. Later on in life they think of school as a daily routine that enriches your intelligence. Through needed education, they get a good job, a good house, and a better life than without that needed knowledge. Therefore, I think it is right to make school attendance mandatory.
No, school attendance should not be mandatory. There are many jobs out there that one does not need an education to get. In addition, trouble making students would just infringe upon the right of a student who wants to learn. Students who do not want to be in school would constantly disrupt the education process . Why should we allow those types of students to infringe upon the knowledge of another student?
Since my opponent has forfeited this round I would like to reiterate that school attendance should not be mandatory for student who do not wish to attend school. These students just take up valuable instruction time and make administrators have to deal with disciplinary measures. Think about it, a student who doesn't want to be at school isn't going to necessarily try their best. In fact many of these student will just be doing the work because its what they have to do without putting any effort into it. These "throw - away" papers and projects just give an educator more to grade and more to worry about with having unnecessary work to do. By allowing students to choose whether they want to be educated or not . The remaining students will learn while the ones who chose not to learn will enter the work force as an uneducated minor. This would solve so many problems including budget problems, over crowded classrooms and disciplinary issues.
While many jobs may not need education, I think it would help greatly in such jobs as racing automobiles. How would it help, you ask? They would know the physics behind racing. If you do not even know about how gravity works, not only do you risk your own life, but you risk the life of many others. Plus, jobs that require education usually pay more and do not usually require strength. If you wish to work on as an army man or protector of justice and peace, I'm not going to stop you. And education will not harm your risk of getting into one of those types of jobs. Infect, it might even help you. But it will help if you decide it is not the kind of job you want.
While there are jobs out there that require a high school diploma, there are jobs that one can get without one. http://jobs.aol.com... gives eight different jobs that one can get without a high school diploma. One could also have a number of careers that do not require a high school diploma. The real factor in this is the student's decision on their own particular career path. You mentioned racing automobiles but that again, depends upon a student's choice. To infringe upon their right to say no to an education is the same as infringing on their right to pick a spouse. Every individual is different and makes choices throughout their life .Why should we as a people always choose for them?
