High Schools should give random drug tests to students.

Schools should not give random drug tests to students.

No matter how I try to wrap my head around this, I can't see a way this thing is going to work.

How exactly does my opponent propose these drug tests be administered?

Hello Beginner!

I am very tired so please do excuse my poor sentence structure! The drug tests would be administered the same way drug tests are taken. They would sit in the nurses office and the nurse would take their test. Unless that have done or taken drugs, they have nothing to fear of! Why does my opponent dislike this notion?

a << Does my opponent want random students to be poked out of class for drug tests?

b << Does my opponent want all students to be lined up suddenly and given drug tests?

c << Have students with previous or suspected records of drug-use be tested periodically?

Option c is not valid since it removes the random factor in the drug-testing, and it infringes on the rights of the suspect student.

Second: How much time and money is going to be spent on the drug test?

It is imperative to note that, while catching druggies is great and all, by administering random drug tests, the school is taking away precious schooling hours that taxpayers pay for their children to receive a full education. By administering random drug tests, you are wasting taxpayer money. And for what? To catch a few druggies? Here is a case in which I do not think the ends justify the means. You would be spending millions to administer these tests, just to apprehend a few tens of kids who do drugs. We already have so many problems with the general educational budget in our nation, I think we could better allocate our funds for something else.
