More than 2 million persons worldwide are living with HIV infection, of those, 1 in 5 do not know they are infected. Learning one's HIV infection status plays a major role in part of its prevention.
Secondary school students engage in behaviours that put them at risk for HIV infection. Furthermore, approximately 50% of secondary school students have had sexual intercourse at least once; in addition 40% of currently sexually active students did not use a condom the last time they had sex. Also the fact that many students have had at least 3 or more sex partners.
Therefore I strongly agree that secondary school students should be tested for HIV without their parents permission since the actions they are taking places them at an high risk of being HIV positive.
