Should Sex Education Taught in Malaysian School As Early As 9 Years Old ??
What you think?

Pro

Yes, it should.

Sex isn't something that we should be hiding from children, nor is it something they should be afraid of. Sexuality is natural, and we all have sexual urges. Trying to hide this fact from children is a bit odd in my opinion and I can come up with no reasons why we would do this, it's just something that has become an accepted part of our culture. I think that the earlier these kids know about sex and sexuality the better, because they need to know that what they will be going through is normal. There's no reason to keep this knowledge back form them.

I am quite interested in and await Con's arguments.

This debate focus on Malaysia because this is my topic of argument for my assignment subject. . :)

Instead of focusing in on that one country, I advocate that all countries should do this, and thus Malaysia is included. it does not really matter in which society we are talking about in my opinion, unless you can come up with a reason why Malaysian society should be different. For example, if you were to say "Gays should have rights in a small town in Russia," I would say that gays should have rights everywhere, so that place is included by proxy. Unless there is some special quality about that place that would make it a big issue for the proposed issue to happen, then it is somewhat useless to bring up the society when the more pressing issue is whether or not 9 year-olds should be taught sex ed. I can elaborate upon my points if you would like.

Children should be given complete sex education in schools, according to what is appropriate for their age; it will prepare them properly for realities in life and protect them.
Parents need to stop thinking that their children are innocent. In today's day and age when social media is becoming commonplace, incorrect & biased information is out there. Adults need to remember that the times are changing and malicious person would seek to harm children who are innocent.

Con is arguing for my side, and somewhat well I might add. I love his point about changing times; sex before 18 is becoming more and more common, and we need to acknowledge the facts instead of keeping our kids in the dark.
