(1) School is a place for learning and there are many aspects to learning including a social interaction aspect.
-When you have small group discussion or question and answer time with a teacher it teaches valuable life skills such as direct social interaction.
-You learn how to govern a active conversation and how to sense when it is ok to interject into a discussion.
-You are not only learning about the subject at hand but you are also learning the finer points of negotiation, conversation, and body language.

(2) Educational Television does not sufficiently replicate these effects.
- Television is a one way media providing little to no interaction from viewers.
- The low amount of interaction does not allow us to form these social skills.

(3) There are many learning styles :
-Television only supports auditory, solitary and visual learning styles.
-Television does not support verbal, physical, logical or social learning styles.
-Class discussion does support auditory, visual, verbal, logical, and social learning styles.

(4) Watching educational television takes away from classroom time that would otherwise be used for classroom discussion or group learning activities.

Stillotson is right on target with her debate. Studies have proven that our culture is missing the social interaction, and is replacing it for momentary pleasures.
