Summer break shouldn't exist in the American school system because most students forget what they have learned over the school year. Yes, there would be maybe a three to four-week break in the middle of the summer and slightly extended winter holidays too. So, breaks are good, but they need to be toned down. A lot. yes, there will be the argument that the break allows students to 'explore', or 'have freedom'. While this is true, the same could be accomplished with the proposed four-week breaks in the summer and winter.

With all due respect, I am aware of our schooling system. I know it has not advanced at all in the past 50 years, on the other hand, humans have. So lets say the average millennial from 10 to 19 years of age is all caught up in extra curricular activities, and he discovers his passion over the summer time.
And you think only 4 weeks is enough over a 9 month educating system? In my opinion I strongly disagree, now more and more children in the United States are switching to home school to have time to find other hobbies, passion, and possible career options that can revolutionize America as we know it. That person can't just discover it only in 4 weeks, not even 3 months.
