If we are having cultural months, even for African Americans, shouldn't we have a month dedicated for most races. Of course we can't fit in all races, but white people have done a lot in history. Of course not all of it was good, but a lot of it were breakthrough moments. I just feel like we should have a white history month to show what all whites have done in history. Good and bad.

The fact is that in addition to Black History Month, which is a commemoration of African American History and Heritage, there are already other months for nearly every group. Irish-American Heritage Month is in March, Italian Heritage Month, Polish American Heritage Month and German-American Heritage Month are all in October. Hispanic Heritage Month is in September and October (it goes from September 15 to October 15). So a white history month would be almost superfluous at this point.
Secondly, White people are not a monolithic entity. As implied in my first point, white people come from a variety of different background and have different cultures. The Irish and the Italians are two very different cultures, yet are both considered white.
Third, the point of black history month is to recognize the achievements and the role played by African Americans in history, something which is typically overlooked in the traditional narrative of US history, which has been very much white washed. White people dominate the narrative of US history which children are taught in schools, and so black history month exists to show expose people to the accomplishments of black people which are overlooked.

Duh. Ever heard of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Paine, Isaac Newton, Gottfried Leibniz, Julius Caesar, Xerxes the Great, Alexander the Great, or the Roman Empire ? Of course there should be a White History Month.

To be honest, I think there shouldn't any months specifically dedicated to the history of any race. I do agree with Con that the history of races other than white Americans is generally overlooked in America, but I think that if someone actually gives a crap about history, they will go look up that race's history without requiring a month being dedicated to it. I don't need a month set aside for my race's history. I don't care about it or any other race's history. I don't want history trivia forced into my view when I couldn't care less about it.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct- Both were civil. Grammar- Pro made a few mistakes. Arguments- Pro failed to realize that history class in school is overwhelmingly white history. Con pointed out the redundancy of a white history month. Sources- Neither were required to provide sources since the topic is subjective.

Reasons for voting decision: Con made better arguments, and explained why it would be unnecessary, although I do wish for something akin to what Pro was arguing for.

Reasons for voting decision: Con makes better points. Pro's arguments are too concise and though perhaps valid, it would have been preferrable for him to expand on these.

Reasons for voting decision: They are tied for conduct, neither said anything outlandish. Neither had grammatical or spelling mistakes. Con made a more convincing argument as it's true there are already months for white cultures. Neither had sources so neither win that one.

Reasons for voting decision: Arguments go to Con because he/she shows that "White" really isn't representative of a certain group of people anymore, and also shows that there are months for other nationalities that are considered "white." Pro only wanted a month based on the accomplishments (good or bad) that white people have made.
