Pro

Schools Nationwide should Have Armed Guards And Metal Detectors. One Reason Is That They Would Protect All Students And Faculty Throughout The School And Protect Against Weapons That May Enter The Building At Any Time, And Detain Any Child That Becomes Violent.
Dr.Intellegent

Con

The schools that already have those established at their schools need them. Those that don't need them do not have them therefore not needing them. Also it could make the children of that school feel un safe

read what this website said because the youth of america need to be protected better . we have federal officers on air planes we need them in schools as well as metal detectors this needs to be made a national mandate . we can send troops and missles to protect foreign countrys like turkey as well as others when we could be using those funds to protect our own from homegrown terrorist like the conneticut shooter as well as others banning guns is not the answer the answer is making it a national law that all schools have some type of armed guard and metal detector present and only one entrance in and out of the school while children are present . from http://www.change.org...

For schools with high crime rates this should be implemented, which it probably already is, but for many schools it would be a waste of time and money to put these costly systems into their school.

You're both wrong. Con doesn't make any since, and Pro should realize that I'm not going to go through the whole airport security thing each time I go to school.

I barely had time to debate. But our children are not the dangerous people it is our parents. Who teach us, if they don't thats not anyone's problem. If there is a gun in the house so be it.

Reasons for voting decision: This was obviously one-sided. I think that teachers should be allowed but not required to Cary firearms. I think that metal detectors is excessive.
