5 Years ago in Britain tuition fees were £3500 per year. Now due to there conservative government plan they will soon be £11500.

Tuition fees should exist because without them the colleges would have to be paid via tax payer money. That is alot of money man. So yes they should exist
Debate Round No. 1

Surely you would agree that all people, rich or poor, should have the opportunity to go to university and get a good job.
Now it is interesting you say that if there was no tuition fees universitys would be paid for out of tax payers money. These are the actual figures of how a university maes its money.

8% Auxilary Activities and service inome.
19% Sponsered Research
46% Endorsement Payout/ Other Investment Income
8% Gifts/ Other Income
19% Tuition Fees

This is not for all universitys but the average one.
This disproves your original argument and shows that only a small amount of a universitys earning are from tuition fees.

Debate Round No. 2

Bean 2 needs to post his second argument. He forfeited last round and if he does it again vote for pro because con fails to debate me. He needs to post his argument. To help him I am going to ask him a few questions for him to answer.

Is it right that some people are not able to go to university because of the costs?
Does he have anything to say against the abolishment of tuition fees and if so what?

For the first question please dont answer that people can take a student loan because we both know that no - one wants to be in debt for a long period of time. For instance if you study architecture at university the full course takes seven years. Wo wants to be in debt of £80,500. It would take many years to pay off that debt.

i completly agree it should be free not all parents can afford an education for there children . even if the chicldren save up for a few years there is no way they will be able to afford college tuition or even the fees of food housing and text books.
