We pay reparation to the Natives and Japan after we bombed them. The Japanese did something wrong but the African American never did. The government has $10,766,435,519,250.73.If we split that up with every U.S.A citizen, each would get about $35,000.If you don't agree, that mean you think slavery is right and or you are just jealous that white people don't get reparation. This country won't be what it is if it wasn't for slaves.

Not a single African-American alive today has been a victim of American slavery. This has been the case for several generations now.

"We pay reparation to the Natives and Japan after we bombed them."

While Japanese-Americans who were placed into internment camps -were- given reparations, that situation is not comparable to that of African-Americans, since absolutely none of them alive today have been under slavery. Reparations were given to the specific individuals who were directly victimized by the American government. Such conditions do not apply to African-Americans today, who are only the descendants of the people who were directly affected.

"If you don't agree, that mean you think slavery is right "

Not at all. The debate is about reparations for slavery, not slavery itself. One needn't support reparations for the descendants of slaves to find slavery wrong (to state so would be a non sequitur).

Some questions for Pro:

Who will be paid for reparations? Not all African-Americans are descendants of slaves, either entirely or in part. Would percentage of ancestry that belonged to slaves factor in? What about already-wealthy black Americans?

Who will pay for the reparations? Taxpayers in general? White Americans in general? Descendants of slave owners? What about whites who have no connection to slavery in America?

What about descendants of black slave owners? Will they be given reparations? Will they have to give reparations?

How much will be paid?

What makes reparations necessary/just in the first place?

The problem here is that no one alive has been a slave in America. Therefore, paying reparations to people who have not participated in something that you pay reparations for is utterly moronic.

I mean, I'll give it to you that being racist stopped being a cultural norm in like 1970, which wasn't that long ago, but still. The plan is awful on every level.

Well, that's an awful idea. Giving benefits to a demographic because they were oppressed a couple hundred years ago? We want to eliminate racism, not subsidize it.
