Pro

I really hope everyone says yes 😬
Debate Round No. 1
Oliviagrraace29

Pro

Women should absolutely should be allowed to vote. It's a basic civil right that we had to fight hard for.
SJM

Con

Just because it is a civil right currently, doesn't mean it should continue to be in the future which is what the resolution is about. Fighting hard for something is also something not entailing that something is good since there are extremists that do fight for extremist things but are not good to put in place.

Oliviagrraace29

Pro

I think you meant *revolution 😬
SJM

Con

No, I meant resolution. As in should women be allowed to vote. Extend my arguments.
Debate Round No. 3
Oliviagrraace29

Pro

So you think women not being allowed to vote would be a resolution? Please explain.
SJM

Con

Resolution is debate jargon for the topic.
Debate Round No. 4
Oliviagrraace29

Pro

Bottom line: Women should be allowed to vote.
SJM

Con

Bottom line my opponent neglected all my arguments.

7 points to Pro. Reasons for voting decision: Congrats Olivia, you win hands down, SJM is one of those that just comes in here to argue and fight

[*Reason for removal*] Not an RFD.

An error in my vote: The points in my RFD say a tie for convincing arguments but in fact should say "Points go to the con"

You seem new, so some advice:

1) Debates aren't exploratory. You go in with a set position and argue for that position, and someone else argues against. This is not a poll.

2) Debate topics should be controversial, or least have a large amount of people who disagree. Otherwise n o one will want to debate on the other side.

3) If you're going to choose a topic which most people favor one side of, at least argue for the unpopular side - that way you'll get someone to debate.

Reasons for voting decision: Conduct: Both were respectable. S&G The Pro failed to capitalize and put periods in the beginning statements. Con had proper spelling and grammar. Convincing arguments: Tie. The pro only provided one argument that was refuted by the con. Granted, the pro should have easily expanded on this to provide a more convincing argument but did not. Thus Con stands with a refute and gaining the point. Sources?: Neither gave any source.
