XANAX should be outlawed and illegal for people who smoke POT! Both combinations should be forbidden! Drug Testing should be conducted to determine if POT has ever been in the system to rule out ALL Negative Consequences.

I believe that this is wrong and that although Xanax and weed is a very bad combination as marijuana causes short term memory loss meaning you cannot remember if you have or have not taken Xanax BUT the thing is with drug tests is that it is almost impossible to tell if weed has been in the body before, we can only see if someone has taken it within the past couple weeks, and if it were illegal it would have to be announced and have the public notified so people would wise up and before getting their Xanax that they have not had pot for the past couple weeks before hand. Although it's bad we can't really help it as drug tests are unreliable.

OK. I tend to agree with what you wrote. However their is too many people who Abuse and Smoke POT and take Xanax. These providers should do some throughout research prior to prescribing this medication to anyone who shows evidence of POT in their system. I believe giving this medication to anyone under 21 years of age should be outlawed to reduce the risk of addiction and abuse. There should be different medications on the market for people under 21 years of age.

Although Xanax is a highly addictive drug there are people that have anxiety constant fear or panic attacks and Xanax provides a way for people not have to deal that horrible feeling of dread. And we can see from past examples of alcohol being another highly addictive object is illegal to drink at the age of 20 and younger but the percentage of AUD's (alcohol use disorders ) in people ages 18 and older in the U.S. Is about 7% and the percentage of people that drink heavily is 24% and once again the age groups is 18 and older and the number of people they said they have drank at one point in their life was an astonishing 75% once again age groups 18 and older. Showing that people will always find a way to figure out how to get something illegal if they wanted it enough. And the thing about having a test before the doctors prescribe Xanax is that people can either pick up pot afterwards or they can once again just wait until the 28 days before the drug test can't show if they have been doing pot.

OK I wonder if there is any other type of medication that would be better to treat these problems other than Xanax for people under the age of 21. You would think counseling would be the 1st place to start.

There are alternatives for Xanax and if you do have stress and anxiety issues it really depends on the level of which you feel this way and what route you're doctor wishes to take. I'm fairly sure that you can get counseling on your own without the help of a doctor so it's really on them if they choose to or not.
