I will first off thank anybody who accepts this debate.

1) Health risks
I am going to risk some health risks involved with drinking. This risks that i am going to list can happen to anybody. Sure there are tons of other things that can lead to these risks but why have one more thing out there that can hurt you and or other people.
Excessive alcohol consumption can lead to serious health problems, including:

Cancer of the pancreas, mouth, pharynx, larynx, esophagus and liver, as well as breast cancer
Pancreatitis, especially in people with high levels of triglycerides in their blood
Sudden death in people with cardiovascular disease
Heart muscle damage (alcoholic cardiomyopathy) leading to heart failure
Stroke
Brain atrophy (shrinkage)
Cirrhosis of the liver
Miscarriage
Fetal alcohol syndrome in an unborn child, including impaired growth and nervous system development
Injuries due to impaired motor skills
Suicide

Drinking and Driving

More than 140,000 Americans Die Every Year From Injuries

Alcohol is involved in many accidents. According to former Secretary of Health and Human Services, Louis W. Sullivan M.D., "Half of all injuries could be avoided by not drinking when you are driving, boating, operating machinery, feeling angry, or using a firearm".

Research indicates that alcohol intoxication is associated with:

40%-50% of traffic fatalities 25%-30% of non-fatal motor vehicle injuries Up to 64% of fires and burns 48% of hypothermia and frostbite cases 20% of completed suicides

Alcohol is also involved in:

40% or more of falls 50% of homicides 47%-65% of adult drownings 70% of attempted suicides

Every year one in three people suffers a non-fatal injury serious enough to require medical attention or cause temporary disability.

I'm sure you know that they tried prohibiting alcohol. That obviously didn't work...who do you think would follow the rules? You be even more reckless trying to get drunk than you normally would.

I thank you for accepting. But I ask why?
My opponent has failed to refute any of my points. So my opponent has dropped all of my arguments. I see no reason for this to go on. I have already won this debate. As i stated he failed to refute my points. and the comment
"I'm sure you know that they tried prohibiting alcohol. That obviously didn't work...who do you think would follow the rules? You be even more reckless trying to get drunk than you normally would"

This debate is not about what happened in the past. this is about the future. So i have won this debate.

Next time please do not accept if you do not intend to debate. Thanks my points are the same.If my opponent post any points in the next round it will have lessoned the grounds of debateing. I have won this debate for as what i have stated. vote pro.

Ok, let me put it in "future" terms for you. It won't work. People will drink mouthwash. It will not work. There is no debate. It's like banning gurneys from hospitals because people get their toes run over. Why should someone in this country have to go fight for their lives before they have a sip of beer? There are problems in this country much larger than alcohol. Hopefully you do realize that you make ferment almost anything to make alcohol..and nobody's going to ban grapes.

Ok my opponent did not read the resolution. its not only about banning. its about restricting it. if you read my debate and look at my sources you will see why. and you commnet " Why should someone in this country have to go fight for their lives before they have a sip of" They will not last long in a fight drunk. so that makes no sense. i still win cause you have not touched on my points. Please do not waste my time. pleas vote for me.

Your first fallacy is that you seem to not understand you are supposed to direct your argument towards the person you are arguing with. Not give shout outs to your grandmother or whoever else asking to be voted for. One vote's not huge buddy.

Secondly, alcohol is restricted in the United States..perhaps you're from some alien planet. How do you propose to further restrict it? No alcohol until you're in your mid-life crisis? Now, I will conciede that perhaps high schools could offer a sort of drinking "permit" you recieve after taking a class on alcohol consumption and its effects on your body.

Your third fallacy seems to me to be fairly embarrasing as I never said that you go to the front lines drunk. That's obvious. It may come as a surprise to you that if you become intoxicated you do not stay drunk the rest of your life. Only an idiot would suggest getting wasted before a gun fight. I said that I don't find it appropriate for a person that is college bound to be drafted into the military and fight for the country that has made the rules telling him what he can and can't do to his body, yet, it is perfectly fine to be shot as long as you stand for someone else and not yourself.

I agree with you so much.

alchcol is the blame to alot of peoples mental health state nowadays

and it really pisses me off that they prohibit cigerettes and do advertisements to ban them
sure cigerettes will kill you but so will drink! and even worse
drink shuts down your organs slowly and when it kicks in and your addicted
you can go cold turkey and go into a coma and die
it messes with your head psychologically.
it should be more adveritised and awarness of drink should be more publically demained.
If people think that drink wont mess with your body yet ridicule smoking
have some serious facts to read into... !.
Forget about the class A and b drugs there statistics are going from grade to grade all the time.
you have my vote!!
