Based upon some recent child deaths, I came upon the question. Should all parents should be required to attend parenting classes before having their first child? I think yes, because a course run by an organization like Red Cross could better ensure the safety of the child and the level of responsibility of the parents.

The link above was one of the many news story examples of how children have been dying from uneducated parents. Most cases are a result from parental neglection, forgetfulness, or all around not knowing how to care for a child. As I am aware, almost every single hospital will not let a couple leave with a newborn if they do not have a car seat and the proper supplies, so that already helps prepare the new family, but in much too many cases, that is not enough.

No matter how good some parents might think they are, there are always lots of ways that they can unintentionally hurt/scar a child for their entire life. They need to learn how to behave around children, how to speak to them, and even how to reward them for something.

Everyone grew up in a different environment and most of the time parents raise their children like they were raised themselves. Not everyone grew up in a healthy home and they won't always know what is actually the right way to parent.
Some parents smoke or drink and thus expose their child to second-hand smoke, while setting a bad example.

Informative classes for new parents are important because it can help ensure the safety of their children and decrease the rate of child deaths based off of uneducated parents.

I suppose liberalism would be the main focus. If it is government run, it will cause more problems that it solves.Look at our schools today.
