Presentation

That way, when children bring their cell phones, communication with their parents is not cut off; During an emergency, they can call their parents.

In my school, we are allowed to bring phones if we provide a phone number and promise to silence and not use them during school hours except for an emergency. Though kids sign a cell phone contract, they do not uphold their vow.

I see kids constantly on their smart phones when the teacher has their back turned. They're playing games like Puzzles and Dragons, Infinity Blade, FIFA 14, and Flappy Bird. If not, they're browsing through social media sites or sending "LOLs" to friends in other classes. This behaviour hinders the learning ability and focus of students. In the twenty-first century, technology has taken up a big place in a child's lifestyle- maybe too big. Now parents and teachers shouldn't let kids' education be ruined by excessive use of technology.

School personnel can't do enough to confiscate all the phones that are being used in classrooms across America. There's only one way to solve this problem entirely, and that is to ban phones from schools. In an emergency, students can use the office phone, the teacher's phone, or the classroom phone. The cons of bringing cell phones to school, let alone smart phones like iPhones, outweigh the benefits by far.

Schools that allow students to bring cell phones risk having them text or game in class, disrupting their education. They are well equipped to handle an emergency, with phones at every corner and intercom-equipped staff. Schools' job is to provide a good education and foundation for the young. Having distractions like phones simply cannot be tolerated, especially with today's technology-addicted youth.

Children should carry cell phones. I see no reason to have them in the class room though. The phones should be left in lockers.
