I believe children should be told that Santa Claus is real. It's a great way of getting children to behave on the manic lead-up to Christmas and their excitement about the man in the red suit is great to watch; Santa is an iconic symbol of Christmas!

Not all children are taught that Santa is real. This cause hug conflict in the child's socialization.

A lot of times what happens is that once the child start school, and have such of discussion with other kids, they may very well realize that this story is absurd and that Santa truly does not exist.

However, the child just go along with the fantasy anyway, since they know that in consequence they will be getting presents.
They hide this from their parents, which begin a game of deception. The parent is deceiving the kid, and so is the kid deceiving the parent.

The parent's deception, encourage the kid's ones, creating many problems.
