Banning cigarettes is antidemocratic because after researches more than 60% of the Americans are against cigarettes prohibition. It is a discrimination as well because by banning it the government stigmatized smokers and forces them to give up their behavior. Technology is very advanced today so instead of banning it the companies could find another way to make it harmless.
It's also not sincere banning it because government makes billions every year from taxing a fatal product and most of people who are openly for the banning have secretly smoking bar home whether it's for them or for their rich friends.

Tobacco use is the major cause of preventable and premature death and disease according to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention. Smoking affects people in many ways. First, there health start to deteriorate. Lung cancer and heart disease are what most smokers die from. There are also a lot of harmful ingredients in cigarettes which contribute to the health of the smoker.
Smoking also affects others around the smoker. Second hand smoking causes numerous problems in infants and children such as asthma attacks, respiratory infections, and sudden infant death syndrome. in adults some health conditions caused by second hand smoke are coronary heart disease, stroke and lung cancer. one in every 5 deaths in the U.S. are related to smoking.
Smoking is also very expensive. Cigarettes on average cost between $5-$13 across the U.S.. It puts a financial burden on society because the more people smoke and get sick, the higher the need for health care cost.
