I believe that college athletes should be paid as they train yearly and have to balance studies as well. Most don't have time to work and be able to provide for themselves as they are training/studying.
Yeah, it's their choice, but why should they reject the chance to have their education paid for because they wouldn't be able to have a job? Honestly with all the money the NCAA makes it wouldn't hurt anything to give each student athlete a reasonable and all around equal salary. Just enough to be able to provide for the needed things like clothes, food, gas, and rent if needed. Of course they'd have some rules to go along with it and if you violate such rules then I think the value should be lessened/ taken away.
