Many hardworking determined students are not able to go to college because of one issue, money. they dont have the money to go to college. of course, there are scholarships but only a few people get them and not all cover absoloutley everything. If they had the opportunity to go to college the could be doctorrs, lawyers, biochemist, even have the chance to be The President all they need is a chance.
The reason I am against this idea is simple, money. Who is going to pay for all these people's educations? They should take out a loan, which they should be able to eventually pay back with the higher salaries earned by those with degrees. Possibly, and I know this may shock people, they should get a job and pay for their own education.
I see where you are coming from, but as you said it's all about the money. its very difficult to be going to school, full time, have a job and have other responsibilities like MOST people do who cant afford college! Teenagers these days are so immature and when you tell them that education is important it goes through one ear and comes out the other. They should be rewarded for having this much responsibility and dedication that they show.
You have stated a truism, teenagers SHOULD be rewarded for showing responsibility. A free college education though, is a costly reward indeed, my opponent still has not yet proposed a funding strategy for such a massive entitlement.
