Thank you for accepting. I will state why I believe that families should be limited to four children or less. 1. Overpopulation is a serious problem. 2. Parents will spend less quality time if they have too many children. 3. Parenthood is not an Olypic sport.

1) Overpopulation is not a problem in the first world - birth rates are actually below the replacement rate. In countries undergoing population growth, birth rates are declining too quickly for overpopulation to become a problem.

2) Why are 4 too many? How will this restriction be enforced?

Third point was ignored, as it is of little relevance to Con's case.

Yes over population is a problem, When people have too many children, the negative affects are astounding. The effects on te economy, and planetary resources are the main reasons.

How did I forfeit this? How long was the time window?

I think a more reasonable number would be 3. I think that a birth rate of 2.7 is what's needed for the population to remain stable., and if you have too much more than that, you get over population. Although, you can argue that there's not a significant number of families that will want 4 kids, and it'll just keep us closer to a stable population.

Why four children? Seems like an arbitrary number to me.

Reasons for voting decision: I would have liked to see either side elaborate more on their respective points. Pro forfeited 2 turns, Con forfeited 1; therefore awarding conduct to Con. However, Pro is the only debater to reference a source; therefore awarding the most reliable source point to Pro.
