Con

People should not be killed. What if they had a mental illness and couldn't help it. Or there parents where like that, and taught them that path. People are different. No one should take a life from a human being. There should be a rehab or some sort of place where people like criminals. Go out and learn. People should just try that way.

"medical experimentation"

Depending on the experimentation, this can be torture for the victims, which is worse than the death penalty.

then what about vigilantes? self defence? corruption?
the legal system would get too confusing.

BUt I agree with the ideals

I just think medical experimentation, slave labour and Repentance are viable options.

I'm anti-death penalty, but I heavily disagree with your opening argument. Just because a criminal has some sort of mental disorder doesn't mean they get to avoid punishment. Besides, mental illness is easily faked, and some sort of "rehab" like you propose would impose a lot of taxes on honest, law-abiding citizens.
