Sentencing a criminal should not just be about punishing them for the magnitude of the result of the crime. Instead it should be about reformation and reintegrating the offender so that they can continue their life in future without engaging in any crime. While cyberbullies bear much responsibility for what they have done when the victim commits suicide it was not a direct action by the offender.
Even though there can be multiple setbacks if a child has to serve time, it is still a crime for adults so why isn't it a crime for minors. That's like saying "oh well... If an adult kills a man then... Um... PRISON!. But if a kid murders then... He's fine he's just a child." By saying he's just a child doesn't make it any less an offense. A child who is cyber bullying another student should be taught by LAW that it is not an appropriate action. If they don't teach them then it will continue to accrue, sure the school put up sign saying "STOP" but really, when was the last time those truly worked u
