Pro

This is an important issue in society, although it's rarely brought up. While the government is trying to put men and women in prison for illegal drug use, it's no surprise that a long-term heroin addict would end a sentence by picking their needle up for the first time in a while. It's true that those who don't want help will get right back to their old habits, but I believe that medical treatment should be a mandatory edition to the punishment as an attempt to prevent further drug use.

just no? alright then. Can't argue with that.

Con

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

4 points to Pro (Conduct, Arguments). Reasons for voting decision: Con doesn't provide a real argument against pro's. He then goes off topic in round two. Due to the trolling nature conduct also goes to pro.

[*Reason for non-removal*] Since the arguments given by Con in both rounds had no bearing on the debate and its outcome, these rounds are treated as forfeits and thus the debate is treated as a full forfeit. As such, since the voter did not vote for Con, the vote is not moderated.

Reasons for voting decision: As compelling as Con's argument of "no" may be, Pro wins as he/she provided the argument that prison does no help rehabilitate addicts.
