I am a journalism student and I am doing my masters capstone on health and body image issues in the fashion industry. I have interviewed many industry people on this topic but want to get the perspective from the general public. This topic has come up many times in the fashion industry but I want to know personal opinions. Israel recently started a law that requires models to maintain a minimum BMI. Should the U.S. adopt such a law? Would it be fair? Should models be required to maintain a certain BMI to help promote a healthier body image? Share your thoughts below! Thanks.
I agree models should set a good example, but I don't think there should be a certain weight number. A lot of people are oer weight. Some are always going to be. How are they going to show outfits that look good on overweight people? If they put those clothes on skinny models it will just hang. How are they going to model clothes for people the overweight people?
