I believe it to be unfair for fish to be forced to breath air. My argument comes from the fact that some fish do, already, breath air and so some people want the others to follow. This is morally incorrect because humans and fish and both animals so we are equals, therefore it is no place to force them to do anything in this manner. The other fish evolved this way, but the others didn't so we shouldn't go around killing the ones we see as unfit, for that is what natural selection is designed to do and has for over 4 billion years. Now, I come to another point: fish have rights. They are intelligent beings and no different than you or me, other than the way in which they breathe. Oxygen is oxygen!!!!

Hello, zebra fashionista. Thanks for challenging me to this deabte.

So the question is, should fish be forced to breathe air in the future if they survive. I would like to address the wording of this topic, when one thinks of "air" they think of the gas one breathes to survive. But to many living things that gas varies. Animals, according to science breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. Plants, on the other hand, breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. This plant and animal breathing system is the air ventilation cycle that repeats ovr and over again. So, zebrafashionista, when you mean air do you mean oxygen or carbon dioxide?

Zebra's argument, "some fish do, already, breathe air an so some people want others to follow." what i am percieving from this statement is that only a certain variety of fish breathe "air". I assume by air you mean oxygen as a fish is an animal and animals breathe oxygen. What i am confused at is that your statement says that only some fish breathe air, and if oxygen is this air you are talking about then we have some problems. Fish on the first hand take oxygen into their bodies by gills, which filter oxygen out of water. Fish are already breathing air, just not in the form us humans are used to. Fish do not breathe water, or else water would enter their blood flow and casuing them to drown. So, yes fish should be able to breathe air in the future instead of water because that is how they are already surving now and always will. Water would just drown them, so fish need the air to breathe.

Thanks zebrafashionista for your time and I am looking forward to hearing your argument.

You seem young. Are you actually being taught that there is some kind of conspiracy to kill all the gilled fish if they do not start breathing air.And there is one very important difference between us and fish or any animal. We have the ability to speak words and to create our individual environments. Animals have been programed to do only what their programming tells them to do.If you have seen one robins nest, you have seen them all.Or a sparrows nest.Man can create living quarters based on their own individual tastes. When our founding documents say that our rights come fro god, and they are the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That pursuit of happiness was left vague because your pursuit of happiness is different from mine.Animals do not have that kind on individuality, and never will. Now animals can and do act differently. A pit bull has a different inherent personality than a Labrador retriever. And when you get into different species the difference is even more striking. Dogs act differently than cats.

My point is, we are on a higher level than animals. God made us that way.Now we are not to abuse these creatures, but they are not our equal at all.

Fish already breath air. They force water through their gills and extract air from it.And how do you force them to do that anyway, and why.
