I think it is simple. Taking away a right to raise kids is terrible and should be outlawed. Those arguing against would probably say; "marriage is between a man and woman, gay's cannot have kids, or that you would raise gay children if you were gay.
That is totally not the case! I'f anything I believe same sex couples makes a child happier and it is a better influence. An influence you can be whatever you want, and don't let what others want you to be affect you. Be who you want to be and happy.

Pro

The idea of taking away the right for anyone to raise kids goes against our constitutional right to the pursuit of happiness. There are many couples, homosexual or heterosexual who probably shouldn't raise kids for one reason or another but ones sexual orientation should not be the deciding factor. What matters in raising a kid is not the gender or orientation of the parent(s), but the quality of their values and the content of their parenting.

I agree but lets not being unrealistic. nine times out of tin they will raise their children gay. Either with or without force. Which could lead to half the world becoming gay. We all know that is dangerous.
katiigrace

Pro

Even if that were true, which it is not, less than 10% of the worlds population is gay, which is no where near half. Also if half the world population "became" gay, wouldn't that be a great solution to our out-of-control population?
Most gay children were not raised by gay parents. Contrary to popular belief, being gay is not a nature vs. nurture thing either. It is something that one is born with, and has nothing to do with the home situation. Sexual preference is biologically determined.

Your augments don't make since d shouldn't be weighed in this round. The goal is children will be raised gay, increasing homo population creating a dangerous world the world.

Pro

My opponent gave no evidence as to why homosexuality is negative. Regardless of ones moral beliefs, there should be no regulation of a homosexual person to raise children. There is no sound fact that being raised in an environment with two same-sex parents causes one to be "raised gay" as the negative said. Overall, the government has no right to mandate any persons abilities to raise children unless the safety of the child is at risk.

Well I think its wrong. But it is unfair for a couple that is madly in love that want a child but can't have one because there the same sex, But I think if they do adopt a child, the child might see things that are not normal but then he might think that it is normal. So that child might become attracted to the same sex.
So I think they should and hopefully they feel happy with the child and let them decide what they want. This should make the parents happy because they want their children's to be the same as them so let them be. This is true and you cannot fight it.

Reasons for voting decision: Con switched sides. Pro consistently argued for the same side. Con's arguments for the side he ended on were unsupported, as Pro pointed out.

Reasons for voting decision: Neither debater used sources. Con's statements had frustrating spelling and punctuation problems. Con didn't provide any evidence for his claim that gay parents necessarily produce gay children. This debate was won by Pro!
