I think High School students should be able to leave for lunch. We could go get our own food and eat whatever we want. School food is gross, and some people don't want to bring their own lunch.

Best of luck to my opponent.

First of all, how can these teenagers be supervised? School is, at its core, a daycare for students. If a parent finds out the school has absolutely no idea where their child is, the school will have hell to pay. What's stopping these students from just running to the nearest McDonald's parking lot and smoking pot/cigarettes or drinking? Then the kid gets into an accident under the school's supposed supervision and they have more hell to pay.

Second, school food isn't supposed to be phenomenal, it's supposed to fill you up so you don't feel mentally drained as the day goes on. As far as students who "don't want to bring their own lunch," why couldn't they just bring the food they would go out to get? Most schools have a microwave in the cafeteria area where they could even reheat it.

Finally, what about students who can't drive? They have to hitch a ride? What if they don't have friends, hate school food and the food they get at home? Are they just out of luck? It's kind of an unfair advantage, not to mention the bullying that would ensue when their classmates found out Bobby can't get Taco Bell on his lunch break.

On a side-note, I personally enjoyed school lunches. I guess I can't speak for everyone's taste, though.
