I posit that speculation (in general) is a intrinsic human characteristic and is therefore a natural human tendency. Speculation in many different markets has come into heavy criticism as the media and members of the US political class have blamed speculators for unduly driving energy prices up. Furthermore, speculators have been blamed for market anomalies such as "flash crashes".

I propose that speculation in the hope of making profits is moral, and necessary to have a functional market.

Thanks to Carlos for starting this interesting debate.

I literally know nothing about market speculation. However, I need to do something to motivate myself to learn more about economics, so I took this debate so I would be forced to research something.

I patiently await my opponent's arguments.

Before I begin my argument, I'll offer some definitions.

Market is defined as "a store for the sale of food".

Speculation is "An unidentified substance...that appears somewhere it is not normally found." (3)

Be is defined as "A term used in most expansion communities for Breast Expansion" (24)

I'm pretty sure my opponent meant "out lawd" rather than "outlawed" because the latter is not a word in the Spansh language. So I'll interpret it as such.

Out is defined as a word you say when indicating that you're leaving or ceasing a conversation. Example: "see ya later, I'm out."

Lawd is the rednecky-ish way of saying "Lord" (9,742).

So the resolution asks us to determine if an unidentified substance sold in a food store should engage in breast expansion and end its conversation with its lord.

Thus, my argument is as follows:

P1. I don't even know.

C1. Therefore, market speculation should be outlawed.

Well, this probably isn't the strongest argument I've ever made, but nevertheless, drops are considered concessions. So unless my opponent can get back to me in his next round, this argument its going to stand. Good luck!

Should I just accept in round 1 and make my points in round 2, or start arguing now?

I define market speculation as an intermediary non-consumer between a good/service and its intended, final consumer.
