Middle schools should start later because first of all, you could get more sleep. Studies show that, "School should start later because people are tired in the morning and can't focus on their work." It is now March and I am still not used to getting up at 5:15 in the morning. Why can't middle schools and high schools start later? Because some people think that teens need 7 hours to sleep! In my case, that isn't true. Teens need 9-10 hours of sleep because they could increase their concentration in school than to sleep for 7 hours and not do well on tests.
Second of all, it could help students bring up their grade. Studies shows that, "Because of the developmental phase they are going through, teenagers need 9-10 hours of sleep to be at their best. Even though I have to get up at 5:00 in the morning, I still have straight A's, but that might not be true to other teens. The other side of the argument will say that the school day will be shorter because it starts later. Well, I think that middle and high school should start at 9:00 and end at 3:00. That would be six hours of school and student will learn enough for the day.
Finally, you won't be stressed in the morning. Studies shows that, "Waking up too early can cause people who stay up late doing homework tired in the morning. Students are extremely stressed in the morning and are rushing to get to school on time! That way they don't have a good breakfast they don't have time to review their studies and they get to school tired and depressed!" How come elementary students get to go to school later and middle and high students have to go to school so early? I think middle schools should start later than the elementary schools because teens are usually tired in the mornings.
